Brookgreen Gardens
Murrell’s Inlet, South Carolina
This was a commission for the creation of a historical cultural garden located in a beautiful setting near the ocean in South Carolina. The image was created by Amiri Farris, and I interpreted the design into mexican smalti (hand cut glass). I created the three panels - each 36" wide by 42" tall - and then spent two days of Community Engagement with groups of kids and local community members to complete the piece. Installation was completed in time for the grand opening of a beautiful, thoughtful and well choreographed Garden to be enjoyed for years to come.
Many Thanks to Mary Wolfe, designer of this beautiful garden and its amenities.

Project for Children’s Hospital
Detroit, Michigan
I designed, built and created this three piece mosaic, using 350 mosaic enthusiasts as volunteers. We were vetted and approved by SAMA and along with The Mosaic Artists of Michigan, we prepped and readies the boards for mosaic. For one week, I oversaw the creation of this piece; mosaic and grouting and ready for display 5 days later! Whatta whirlwind!!
This now lives in the hallway outside the newest Emergency Center at Children's Hospital of Detroit, Michigan.

Mosaic Bench
South Haven Art Center
South Haven, Michigan
I led a Community Engagement event to kick off an exhibition of contemporary mosaic art in the town’s Art Center. Guests each produced one 4” mosaic, using 1 of 4 geometric templates. Attendees were invited to consider design and pattern and flow. The gallery continued this project throughout the mosaic exhibition. The participating artists worked together to create the Mosaic Bench.
